In the heart of the Luberon national park lies the medieval hilltop village of Saignon. A short step from one of Provence's most beautiful village squares you'll find Villa le Rocher, a bright and charming Provencal home with spectacular views towards the hills of the Luberon and across the valley up to Gordes. The garden and terraces all face South and West, allowing full enjoyment of the Mediterranean sun. The house is well equipped with all modern amenities along with a cosy fireplace, so that it provides a comfortable retreat in summer and winter.
The views look west over the Luberon valley enjoying magnificent sunsets; the southerly aspect faces the Luberon mountains, then the panorama continues around to include Mont Ventoux and the Montagne de Lure. The view behind the house looks up to Saignon's famous belvedere, Le Rocher, standing majestically above the garden and pool.
The house comprises a spacious living room with fireplace, with doors opening up onto a large terrace with magnificent panoramic views. At ground level there are two bedrooms: the master bedroom with en suite shower room and a second bedroom with separate bathroom. Adjacent to the living room is the fully equipped kitchen, and you'll also have a laundry room and a study. The third double bedroom is upstairs. The entire house is air conditioned.
To suit your mood and the time of day, the garden is laid out with a variety of patios and terraces where you can sit and enjoy the view or lie soaking up the sun in front of the pool.
The pine trees above the blue terrace provide welcome shade from the midday sun, whilst the patio by the sheep pen is the first place to enjoy the sun in the morning. In front of the house, on the stone terrace, you can sit on the comfortable arm chairs and wait for the lights to come on in the nearby town of Apt. This is also a favourite spot for sitting out at night to gaze up at the stars.
- Pool 10m x 3.5m
- Garden with mature trees and flower borders
- Sunny and shaded terraces
- Garage - to store bikes
Villa le Rocher is tucked away on the edge of the medieval village of Saignon. A walk into the centre of the village takes less than 5 minutes, past the restored castle walls, old olive mill, village square and fountain where you can drink the fresh spring water.
Saignon is situated about 40 miles east of Avignon, about 5 minutes from Apt, 15 minutes from Bonnieux , Gordes and Roussillon, 30 min. from L'Isle sur la Sorgue (famous for its antique shops) and 50 minutes from Aix en Provence. You'll find a 18-hole golf course near Saumane, at 38 km.

We just arrived back from our time in France and without a doubt our most relaxing and fun time was our week at Villa Le Rocher in Saignon, Provence. What a beautiful, comfortable home with the most gorgeous views. My husband, our two adult daughters and myself loved the design of the house. The huge glass door that let in so much light and made the transition from indoors to outdoors seamless was perfect. The kitchen was a nice size for preparing meals and it too had a lot of light and a gorgeous view. The swimming pool and beautiful pool area were greatly enjoyed by all of us. Many thanks to the owners and managers of the splendid Villa Le Rocher. We hope to come back!

We have returned from your wonderful vacation and enjoyed Villa Le Rocher very very much. Waking up every day with the beautiful view and the lovely Provence wind and quiet surroundings, the whole family loved it. The caretaker has given us a warm welcome and gave us all the information we needed. Good to have a nice person there to get more information if needed. Due to her our daughter made a tour on the back of a horse through the National parc of Luberon with 34 degrees celcius :)

We, my husband and I, stayed here in winter, 4 weeks just before New Year! Fantastic comfortable house, nicely decorated, views you can not believe, sunsets every day... The village is wonderful too, with a bakery and some nice restaurants and all Luberon villages with the Christmas markets are around. It was a very special experience to be here in winter and we will come back soon! Also a special merci for the caretaker, she was always available when needed!

We had a lovely week in Villa Le Rocher, which we really enjoyed, well equipped, good beds and interesting paintings. It was a little bit out of season, but the pool was warm and we used it frequently. The view from the house is magnificent. We enjoyed sitting outside for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and just look at the valley and the mountains. We enjoyed our staying!
