This beautiful and spacious 18th century 'Mas' is set amidst 5 acres of vineyards and olive trees, about 5 mins from Oppede and 10 mins from Menerbes, offering spectacular views in all directions. A footpath just behind the house leads to a nearby village with a bakery etcetera, an enjoyable 15 minutes walk. Villa Royere has been beautifully restored and you are certain to enjoy its spacious layout and tasteful decoration. The house offers peace and quiet in great comfort.
Villa Royere has an upper and a lower level: on the lower level you have a beautiful courtyard with traditional 'pierres apparentes' stone walls, with its own separate kitchen, perfect for preparing a lunch or an apéritif. On the upper level you will find the large pool and an outdoor BBQ with electric grill and 'plancha'. You have at your disposal many - partly covered - outdoor terraces, facing East, West and South, so you'll always be able to find a place in the sun or some welcome midday shadow. From the terraces and the pool area you have magnificent views over the vineyards and the Montagne de Luberon. Outside you will also find a pleasant Jeu de Boules court and a table tennis table.
You enter through a spacious hallway. There's a large living room with fireplace, with direct access to the East terrace and its swimming pool. The kitchen is fully equipped, and has all the appliances necessary to test your mastery of French cuisine. The dining room has room for ten, with a sturdy wooden dining table and a traditional Provencal fireplace. The massive historic walls of the villa guarantee an agreeable indoor climate year round: cool during summer and comfortably warm during the pre- and afterseason. In additon to this two of the bedrooms have air conditioning.
On this level you'll find two bedrooms:
the 'Violette' room: with a 160*200cm cm bed, and an integrated bathroom with bath, bidet, beautiful wash basin and WC
the 'Srinagar' room: with two beds (90*200cm), and a bathroom with shower, wash basin, bidet and WC.
On the lower level you'll find three bedrooms:
the 'du Comte' room: with a 160*200cm bed
the 'Lili' room: with two beds (90*200cm).
The du Comte room and the Lili room share a bathroom with shower and WC. The Lili room has its own wash basin and WC.
the 'Vaulted Room': this beautiful vaulted room has independent access from the courtyard. There's a 160*200cm bed, and a spacious bathroom done up in splendid brown marble, with a bath, shower, bidet, washbasin and WC.
Villa Royere is situated near the magnificent medieval village of Oppede. Oppede is perched high against the Luberon Mountains and is a jewel of coble stone alleys and old stone houses.
The house is situated about 25 km southeast of Avignon, 20 minutes from Bonnieux and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (famous for its antique shops) close to Coustelet (for shopping and restaurants) and 50 minutes from Aix en Provence. Marseille Airport is at about an hour's drive. You'll find a 18-hole golf course near Saumane, at 17 km.

We had a fantastic holiday at a fantastic place, very nice and charming accommodation. Everything was top, servicing perfect and very well handled by the caretaker on the spot - flexibel, very kind and efficient in every respect. The house offered all the comfort we were expecting, location was marvelous and we had great weather at same time! Thanks for everything!

What a wonderful house! Beautifully situated between the 2 Luberon villages I like the most, Menerbes and Oppede... You always hope you make a good choice but this was better then we expected, nicely decorated, a lot of space everywhere, clean, different levels so everyone had his own privacy and the garden all around, without end! We made walks on our ‘own’ property! We will be back soon!
