Bastide des Guendons is located just below Menerbes, with spectacular views of Menerbes itself and the Luberon massif. A charming driveway takes you to the beautiful entrance of the domain. The bastide has been tastefully renovated, with great attention to detail, using traditional building methods and natural materials, and is set between the lavender fields and olive trees. From the domain you have a beautiful view of Menerbes and the Luberon massif.
Bastide des Guendons offers you luxury and comfort, sleeping up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. The house is set in lush and green surroundings of 1 ha, with the traditional Provencal stone walls, planted with oak, pines, cypresses, olive trees, fig trees, cher ry trees and of course of lavender.
Entrance is through the hallway into the living area with fireplace. From the hallway you also have access to the beautiful fully equipped kitchen, also with fireplace. From the hallway stairs lead up to the first floor, with the magnificent large master bedroom with mezzanine and en suite bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. On this floor you will also find the other four bedrooms. There are two double bedrooms with their own bathrooms en suite, one bedroom with two individual beds with its own bathroom also en suite, and one double bedroom which has to share one of the other 4 bathrooms.
The property has a large landscaped garden, amidst lavender fields and woodland. Several terraces, seating areas and many mature trees supply some welcome shade during the summer months. Garden furniture and lounge chairs are supplied and in the garden you will find the large heated pool, measuring 15 x 6m. The pool is secured with an alarm and an electric cover, and the pool area has an indoor shower and a convenient toilet. Ample parking is available on the premises.
The house is in a very quiet location at walking distance (20 minutes) from the center of Menerbes, one of Luberon's famous villages, with vistas extending to the far horizon. In the village you will find restaurants, bars and several shops. Each year Menerbes hosts the "Petit Marché aux Truffes de Ménerbes", the renowned truffles market which takes place in the town square. From the village hiking trails start out in all directions, and Menerbes is also a great starting point for bicycle trips; (electric) bikes are for rent in the village.
Menerbes is located about 30 km east of Avignon, an hours drive from Marseille’s Marignane airport and 15 kms to the nearest A7 motorway exit. It is just 15 minutes from Bonnieux, Gordes and Roussillon, with all the major sights in Provence within striking distance. It's 30 minutes from L'Isle sur la Sorgue (famous for its antique shops) and 50 minutes from Aix en Provence, and the Mediterranean sea (Cassis) is at about an hour. You'll find a 18-hole golf course near Saumane, at 18 km.

What a property! stayed for two weeks in this marvellous house, had no time enough to visit all places of interest, also due to the fact we wanted to stay ‘home’! Very spacious house, rooms and bathrooms are wonderful and very comfortable, lovely gardens with several areas to read, dine etc, large very nice pool and the views from everywhere are to die for! Easy walk up to the village where we found everything we needed, only went twice to one of the bigger supermarkets nearby. Great holiday, will come back!

One of the nicest house we've been to, beautifully situated with the village of Menerbes up in the back ground, we loved the large garden all around the house with the enormous old trees for natural shade and I myself loved the glassed veranda to read and write.

We had a very nice holiday, stayed often in this part of the Luberon but this time was really the best! unfortunately I had to work also but it was no problem as the house is very large so easy to find a spot to work, we cooked twice and the other evenings we walked to the village for drinks and a restaurant, all were good, next time we will stay more weeks!
