Maison Rouville is a splendid village house in the picturesque centre of Bonnieux, overlooking the central valley of the Luberon with views on Lacoste, Goult, Gordes and Roussillon, with the majestic Mt Ventoux as a backdrop.
Maison Rouville offers 110m² of living space and has recently been completely renovated and transformed into a spacious loft-style house. The decoration has been done by a interior designer, in a mix of design and locally sourced antiques. Maison Rouville offers magnificent views of the surroundings, which can be enjoyed from the upstairs sitting room and roof terrace.
Entrance to the house is from a charming small courtyard into the spacious living area (60 m²) with fully equipped open plan kitchen, a large fireplace, a sitting area and a dining area. During the recent renovation lots of the original Provencal charm of the house has been preserved: the flooring is handmade terracotta tiling and the living area retains its original beamed ceiling.
On the same level, two steps up, you will find the bathroom and the bedroom. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, a black marble washbasin and a WC. The spacious bedroom offers a queen size bed and a romantic clawfoot bathtub. The bedroom and the living area both benefit from air conditioning. As the house has two levels it is less suited for people with reduced mobility.
From the living area wooden stairs lead up to the upper floor where you'll find a sitting room with large bay windows opening up onto the roof terrace, giving the room an 'inside out' feel. In summer, with the bay windows open, the room functions as the shady part of the terrace, whereas on chilly days, with closed windows, the room offers cosy comfort with an outside feel. The views from the terrace and the salon are amazing, with spectacular sunsets to be enjoyed every night.
Maison Rouville is located in the centre of the famous Provencal village of Bonnieux, where you'll find ample restaurants, bars and shops, all within easy walking distance. Friday morning's there is a very nice open-air market with local products and souvenirs. From the village hiking trails start out in all directions, and Bonnieux is also a great starting point for bicycle trips; (electric) bikes are for rent in the village.
Swimming possibilities: the Etang de la Bonde at La Motte-d'Aigues or the La Sorgue river at Fontaine de Vaucluse (both 30 minutes away), or closer by 'Le Plan d’Eau d’Apt'. Alternatively the charming Mediterranean fishing port of Cassis, known for its beaches and calanques, at a good hour's drive.
The major sights in Provence and the villages of Gordes, Menerbes, Roussillon, Lourmarin and Goult are all within striking distance. It is 55 minutes driving from Marseille-Marignane airport, 35 minutes from Avignon, 1 hour from the sea and 50 minutes from Aix-en-Provence. You'll find a 18-hole golf course near Saumane, at 27 km.

Received by the caretaker and everything about the house well explained. All necessary amenities present. The great view from the terrace + the authenticity and nice decoration of the house - clearly collected with love and passion - are a big plus. As we rented bikes during our stay we saw Bonnieux 'inside out', nicely 'inside' the heart of the village from the house and 'outside' with the bikes. Thx!

This property is absolutely amazing! Inside is so light and airy and beautiful. And the view is absolutely spectacular. The location is perfect for launching day trips throughout the region. There are amenities nearby including the Utile store just steps away so we were able to make our own breakfast, snacks, and coffee & tea. Getting to stay here was a dream come true!

A beautiful home in a lovely spot in Bonnieux. Everything you need and more is included, by responsive and helpful hosts. Produce from the local shops is wonderful, so much so that we usually ate dinner on the roof terrace watching the fabulous sunsets across the breathtaking panorama.

Everything about our stay was perfect! Bonnieux is the best village in the Luberon, and the Luberon is the best parc in Provence. The villa was comfortable, beautifully furnished and kept up, the location was ideal, the caretaker was great to work with, and the view from the Terrasse was like walking into an impressionist painting. We hope to be back.

This was our second visit to the Luberon Valley. We had stayed years earlier with the family in a home with a pool just outside of Gordes. But my husband and I wanted to experience the vibrance and intimacy of life in one of these hill towns during our two week stay. Bonnieux was highly recommended and rightly so. We had a wonderful stay! We appreciated the open living space, second story deck where we enjoyed cocktails and a gorgeous, panoramic view of the Luberon Valley, a nice lounging area downstairs for watching Netflix movies at night, including great programming and Internet, as well as a stocked kitchen and dining area. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. The location is central to everything… in town and beyond, including the market (four doors down) bakery (around the corner), fabulous restaurants (five doors down, below us, above us... which captured some of the energy that we wanted to experience), adequate shopping - clothing, antiques, art, pharmacy, foodie shops of cheese, wine, and a good butcher, e-bike rentals, great hiking everywhere, as well as a substantial day market and two beautiful churches - not to mention a great jumping point to all of the other Hill towns in this beautiful valley. And on that note, the easy street parking made it convenient to get in and out of town every day. The owners and caretakers were also gracious and responsive to our needs, throughout the week. We just had a few information requests which they responded to immediately. We would recommend this place to friends and family.

This is a very pleasant village house! My wife and I stayed here 2 weeks in July and had a lovely time. The house itself is spacious, very comfortable, with a well-appointed kitchen, a lovely bathroom and a very spacious bedroom with a bath on heels! On top of that air-conditioning and bug screens all around. Lots of charm and very tastefully decorated. We had our breakfast every day on the wonderful roof terrace, and every evening a magical sunset. And of course it’s location is unbeatable with restaurants and shops just around the corner and in the middle of a charming bustling village live. We’ll be back soon!

We stayed here for a week in June. We wanted to do a lot of cycling and hiking and this house turned out to be a perfect basis to explore the Luberon region in this way. We took our own bikes, which we could park in the little courtyard, but it turned out there were plenty of bikes for rent in the village. At night we just walked around the corner to have a lovely meal in one of the numerous restaurants the village has on offer. We absolutely would recommend this house.

We have had a wonderful time in Bonnieux. The autumn season is wonderful, you can easily do nice walks without it being too warm and the colours are just fantastic!

Ah the best time ever! We instantly felt at home. The place is super cozy, insanely clean and well organized, all appliances are high quality (love German engineering!). And last but not least, the views are to die for! One of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. The town is super pretty too! If you are planning to stay in Luberon Valley, this is your place.
