The village of Bonnieux is perched on a narrow, steep ridge, rising up from a flat plain to the 12th-century "Eglise Haute" church at the top with its high, pointed steeple. Villa Grand Bonnieux is located close to this magnificent Provencal village and offers spectacular views of the surrounding lavender fields and the hilltop villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste, and up to Gordes, Goult and Mt. Ventoux on the other side. This beautifully restored Mas sleeps up to 10 adults (and 4 children) in 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. All bedrooms benefit from air conditioning.
Entrance is through a beautiful wrought iron gate, which leads to the courtyard with planetrees and mulberry trees. Secure parking is available on site. Villa Bonnieux comprises three large suites, two beautiful courtyard rooms and a communal living area with kitchen.
The East Suite has its own fully equipped kitchen and a living area with fireplace. This suite also has a private covered courtyard terrace, and double doors opening up onto a private part of the sundeck surrounding the pool.
A winding staircase leads to the bedroom with en-suite bathroom, with double Italian shower, double washbasin, bidet, WC and large bath. From the bedroom doors open up onto an outside terrace with splendid views of Bonnieux and Lacoste, and the surrounding lavender fields. On the ground floor you will find a high quality sleeping sofa which will comfortably sleep 2 children.
The courtyard room is up a few steps from the courtyard. This is a large bedroom with en-suite bathroom equipped with an Italian shower, bath, bidet, WC and double washbasin. The double bed (180 x 200) can be used as 2 single beds. The authentic Provencal fireplace is for decorative purposes only, but surely does lend to the warm atmosphere of this room. Double doors lead onto an outside terrace with the same splendid views as the East Wing; of Bonnieux and Lacoste, and the surrounding lavender fields.
The West Suite entrance is at the end of the courtyard. From the entree two steps lead up to the bedroom. From the bedroom two sets of double doors lead to a private part of the pool terrace, and a private terrace on the west side with spectacular sunset views. The en-suite bathroom has an Italian shower, double wash basin, WC, bidet and large bath. In the entree you will find a high quality sleeping sofa which will comfortably sleep 2 children.
Courtyard room #2 is a spacious ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom equipped with an Italian shower, bath, bidet, WC and double washbasin. Double doors lead onto an outside terrace with magnificent sunset views.
Steps lead up to a large living room with fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs you'll find a bedroom with en-suite bathroom with Italian shower, double wash basin, WC, bidet and large bath. The south suite has a terrace on the ground level with beautiful views of Goult and Mt. Ventoux.
Villa Bonnieux has a spacious living area with large dining table, bar and fireplace. Adjacent to the living area is the fully equipped open plan kitchen. The massive historic walls guarantee an agreeable indoor climate year round: cool during summer and comfortably warm during the pre- and afterseason. Open doors lead to the courtyard terrace and the partially covered pool terrace, so there are ample possibilities to find a place in the sun or in the shade. In the garden you will find a large covered terrace with good views of the pool area. The pool itself is very large, measuring 15 x 7m, and is heated. There is a Jeu-de-Boules court for you to enjoy, and a table tennis table. Villa Bonnieux has its own lavender field, the blooming season is from the beginning of June until the end of July.
Villa Grand Bonnieux offers the possibility to host your wedding or party, and English speaking managers are on hand to assist you with the organisation of your event.
Villa Grand Bonnieux is located right in the 'Golden Triangle' of Bonnieux, Lacoste, Goult and Gordes. It is a 55 minutes drive from Marseille–Marignane airport, 35 minutes from Avignon, 1 hour from the sea and 50 minutes from Aix-en-Provence. You'll find a 18-hole golf course near Saumane, at 27 km.

We had a great time at Villa Bonnieux. It is as beautiful as the photos on the website show, though I must say the scale of the dwellings and the grounds was greater than I had imagined. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so it was a resounding success with everyone. All the rooms/apartments are beautiful, extremely comfortable and very attractively furnished and decorated. It is a boon to have two large eating areas in the main apartment for different times of the day & different weathers. The beds are very comfortable. The shower/bathroom facilities are amazing in all the apartments and i must say I was impressed that the temperature controls over such a large property was very good. The pool is fabulous. For us as a single family it was often the centre of significant parts of each day, it is clean and very well designed. For our children, the space around the buildings was a great boon. It meant they could safely play away from adults if they wished. The variety of relaxing spaces and venues around the place means that adults can relax/read in peace if anyone gets tired of the buzz of such a large and& busy group or just wants a few private moments - even, or especially, families can become too much from time to time! The grounds are well kept but not to the extent that as a guest you would feel uneasy exploring. Villa Grande Bonnieux is everything I had hoped it would be when I booked; the location, the grounds, the decor, the facilities, the integration of the apartments (so that though each of our families had their own space we all felt it was a unitary building). However, we all felt the caretakers are a huge asset. They were very solicitous, checking frequently that we were happy, and they even phoned daily orders through to the patisserie for us. The booking process and communication was very good for us. Thank you for that. We had a fabulous time and it was all we hoped it might be!

Villa Bonnieux was perfect for us. We just lovedit. We had our family from New Zealand and everything was amazing. We spent lots of time in the pool and relaxing which was so good for everyone. We can't speak highly enough of the caretakers. They were so kind and helpful and added another dimension to our superb stay. Thoroughly recommend having breakfast delivered each day! Our holiday at the villa was a dream come true and exceeded ourexpectations. We have wonderful memories which we will never forget. Thank you for recommending it to us!

It is very difficult to write about this house, very overwhelming! All renovated with a lot of taste, design furniture, very well equipped kitchens, really good beds... a dream... and then the pool area with the lavender just blooming behind, in one word, fantastic!We had a great 2 weeks here in the middle of the Luberon with views from Lacoste to Bonnieux and on the other side towards Gordes, a fabulous holiday!

I was so surprised as the house does not look half as large in the pictures as in reality! Great bedrooms with their own bathrooms and 3 with its own well equipped kitchen. we were with our family and we could be together for dinners etc. but we all had our privacy which we thought was great! With the endless garden and pool area and all the Luberon villages at our feet it was a great experience! And great caretakers too!

Fantastic house, great design, a mix of old and new, and we had all our ‘own’ home in the house (3 friend couples), and yet we could have dinners etc all together and even could ask twice some friends to stay with usfor a few days as we had 2 rooms left...We surely will come back one day!

Magnificent villa, very pleasant, very warm welcome from the caretakers (a little welcome and end-of-stay attention) and very appreciable availability and discretion. Superb garden and magnificent view of Bonnieux, Lacoste and the lavender. Top swimming pool! Decoration of large living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms was neat and sophisticated.
